| PARTY4CHARITY: DARE 2 DREAM was a success! | At last ,the party 'DARE 2 DREAM" 'What i wanna be when i grow up" that was held at Nomad Club on Fri 28th Nov'08 was over with a great success! We have earned support from many people and was able to raise more than THB 200,000. All the proceeds will go directly to Wat Sakaew, in Ayuthaya/Angthong just north of Bangkok. It's a school for orphans and unfortunate children, totally self-managed with no support from the government and entirely dependent on donations. The school consists of more than 1,000 children ranging from kindergarten to high-school level. All proceeds from ticket sales and 108 Punna book sales will go to building the library for these children so they can learn by themeselves and be more educated. It was the first party that our group "PARTY4CHARITY" had organized. The Founders are Natalie Glebova-Srichaphan and Shannon Kalayanamitr, with the team core members who are; Ace Thanaboon Somboon, Mark Thanop Eiamamorpan, Arsit Prachaseri, Nishita Shah. Surasak Kerdsin, Flow Cocktail Co., Ltd, Cloud Nine Communications Co., Ltd, and myself. (www.party4charityasia.org) Each party will focus on a different foundation of reputable cause and institution, and each event will be tailored to the theme of the foundation. This 1st one was focusing with "108 Punna Photography Project" which was organized by Ace Thanaboon Somboon and Mark Thanop Eiamamornpan. "108 Punna: Faces of the Future Book" is a collection of portraits that aims to reflect the dreams of 108 children from Wat Sakaew Foundation. These children were encouraged to share their imagination for the future by taking on the guise of the professions they hope to one day follow. (www.108punna.com) There were tremendous support for "DARE 2 DREAM" from many celebrity models, guests, stylists, Djs, photographers, business entrepreneurs, and media that we would like to give a big thank and a round of applause to: Boon Rawd Brewery Corp., Diageo Thailand, OK! Magazine, MTV Thailand, Chic Channel, Flow Cocktail Co., Ltd, Cloud Nine Communications Co., Ltd., Pioneer Thailand, The Living TV Program, Talui Party TV Program, JCC Printing Co., Ltd., Siam Winery, Red Bull Extra, Nomad Restaurant and Club, Ideas Silo Event Organizer, California WOW Xperience, Arty Professional, Paul Mitchell, and a famous Stylist; Akekamon Attakamol (P'Jeab). And importantly the celebrity models who were; Cindy Bishop, Ju Nakwan Rayananonda, Korn Kiatfuengfoo, Pau S. Bhanubandh, Paradon Ball Srichaphan, Srikumrung Yukol, Matthew Deane, Jeed Sangtong Keduthong, Kay Chollada Mekratri, Sonya Couling, Selin Sila, Tanya Khalikova, Byron Bishop, Woonsen Virithipa Pakdeeprasong, Rupop Knight Shin, Eilidh MacQueen, Markus Naraed Wiedermann, Natalie Glebova, and myself. | | Published on Monday, 1st of December at 3:20 pm | | | Read comment (1) | Add comment | | |

| Thailand: The Land of Tears | I was hoping that I don't have to raise up this issue again as I already wrote about the political unrest 3 times in my previous blog already. But, Thailand now is getting worst or to a devastating point as they are many protestors running around like madness and destroying the country so badly. The situation is worst than the Tsunami (2004) and will take longer time to recover. The reputation and image of Thailand have been destroyed completely. It is sad to say that it has been done by our own Thai people, not by any natural disasters and etc. Last Tues 25, almost 3,000 forreign tourists were stranded at Suvarnabhumi Airport. Thailand is not safe anymore and I now understand why people have been warned not to to come to Thailand and now they travel to the neighboring countries. The PAD needs to realise that their action has damaged the country's economic vastly by effecting the tourism. This 5th Dec will be our beloved King Bhumipol Adulyadej's birthday. Is that what the Thai peole giving Him as a present?! Again, I will repeat what I wrote earlier as I strong believe in this and hope that all of us the Thai people will feel the same. Thailand has long been ruled by our beloved King Bhumibol Adulyadej. I believe that he would prefer Thailand to be the land of peace, freedom, and happiness. Here is the Thai national anthem after translation to English: Thailand unites flesh and blood of Thais Nation of the people; belonging to the Thais in every respect. Long maintained (has been) the independence Because the Thais seek, and love unity. Thais are peace-loving; But at war we're no cowards. Sovereignty will not threatened Sacrificing every drop of blood for the nation Hail the nation of Thailand, long last the victory, Hurrah How contradicting it is with the situation right now! I am one of the many Buddhists who believe that peace can only be achieved if we first establish peace within our minds. The idea of anger and other negative states of mind are the cause of wars and fighting. We can live in peace and harmony only if we abandon the anger in our minds and learn to love each other. | | Published on Thursday, 27th of November at 6:54 pm | Category: More... | | Add comment | | |

| My New Venture and The Amazing V Villas, Hua Hin! | There have been so many good things that are happening in my life recently. I must say that It's just a good beginning for the year 2009. First of all, with many job opportunities that have come along besides few event projects that I have closed the deals and few more projects which are still pending. I just keep my fingers crossed that I'll get them. Most importantly, I've signed the contract with California WOW Xperience Plc (CAWOW) which is the leading fitness center in Thailand with 10 branches altogether (8 in Bangkok, 1 in Patttaya, and 1 in Chiang Mai) as a "Marketing Director" overseeing all the branches across the country. I will officially start working there on Dec 16, 2008. However, sadly to say that I'll be leaving Dream Hotel where I've been working as a Director of Public Relations for nearly 3 years before the hotel openning. The main shareholders of CAWOW are Mr. Eric Levine and Khun Vicha Poolvoraluck. Khun Vicha is also a founder of "Major Cineplex" which is the largest operator of movie theatres in Thailand. He also owns V Villas in Hua Hin which has been operated for 8 months now and also Vie Hotel in Bangkok, which is planned to open in Dec'08. There is the possibility that I will oversee these 2 properties as well. Therefore, this past weekend I had been invited by Khun Vicha and Khun Gerald Dibbhayawan, VP of Operations of CAWOW to visit V Villas after seeing the beautiful Vie Hotel 2 weeks ago. I was there with my colleage; Ching, my assistant; Tudtu, and my family. I stayed with my family in 1 villa, while Ching and Tudtu stayed in another villa. For all of us, it was the best experience and impressive stay ever! There are only 13 lavishly designed boutiques villas which each features a private, pool, 2 bedrooms or 3 bedrooms, exotic garden, terrace, kitchen, and jacuzzi. It is just a perfect ideal for those that are seeking for exclusivity and finer things in life. Each room has a wireless internet on complimentary, DVD player with variety lists of movies, and own butler service in each villa on hand 24 hours. The best part of the stay was the premium service that we all received from the time of stepping out of the car upon arrival until departure. All of us were being pampered and taken care of exceptionally well. Everything was complimentary for us which included accommodation, food, spa, and mini-bar. It was really a relaxing trip and since beach is my favorite holiday destination. All day long, I was sunbathing, swimming, kite wakeboarding, horse back riding, and exercising in the gym. It just seemed that the trip was too short and that time flew so fast that I just wish that I can extend my stay few more days before coming back for long and hard weeks of work, which I won't be able to rest again until New Year. Overall, I must say that I am happy with my life, my family, and my new career ventures. | Women and Diamonds | I think every woman can be comparable to diamond as both are unique and valuable, beautiful and fashioned by nature, and perfected by human ingenuity and craftsmanship. On 12 Nov'08, I had a chance to take part in organizing a Jubilee "The King of Carat Diamond" event that was held at Thailand's most luxurious cinema, Enigma at Siam Paragon Shopping Complex. Jubilee Enterprise PCL is a local company with more than 70 branches countrywide. This brand has proudly received an HRD (Hoge Raad voor Diamant) Diamond Certicate from Antwerp, Belgium which guarantees that the diamond is indeed real with grade A quality. It is managed by Viroj Pornprakit, CEO, and Unyarat Pornprakit, CFO of the company. There were many celebrities taking part in the fashion show namely former Ms. Universe; Natalie Glebova-Srichaphan, famous Thai actress; Sririta Jensen, socialites; Dr. Krittika Kongsompong, Marisara Chantarat, Nitra Kitiyakara, Sutassanee Kunplin, Sasivimol Na Ranong, Tiplada Poonsiriwong, Kornkanok Yongsakul, Nunthavimol Polpanich, MR Mannaruemas Yukol, and myself. We all were wearing HRD masks and Jubilee diamonds in our beautiful black evening dresses for the fashion show. The highlight of the event was a finale done by Natalie holding 10 carat diamonds value more than 10 million bahts with HRD Certicate. Another exciting part was the cake cutting by the Management of Jubliee. Piece of cake was given to every celebrity models. There was a small piece of diamond hidden in the cake which one of us might be lucky enough to find it. Eventually, the lucky person was Dr. Krittika who found a diamond in her cake. My main responsibilites for this event were doing PR, inviting celebrity models for the fashion show, celebrity guests to attend the event, and press. More than expected, there were about 100 press from various TV programs, magazines, newspapers, and websites attended the event to cover the story. The big Enigma theatre suddenly was packed with press and guests. I would say that the overall event went succesfully well with co-operation from team members. And nevertheless, thank you to all the models, guests, and press who were the main part of this success. | | Published on Tuesday, 18th of November at 1:29 am | Category: Fashion | | Add comment | | |

| Do You Believe in Yourself? | Every human being, regardless of race, creed, sex or spiritual belief, has the incredible capacity to accomplish far beyond their wildest dreams, only if they believe in themselves. I am considered to be a successful career woman with a good life and a happy family. I think many people envy me or jealous of me because they think I am talented, smart and lucky. However, the truth is I am a successful person, not because that I am smarter or luckier than anyone, it was just that I 'never quit' to follow my dreams and make them come true. I strongly believe in myself and have confident in myself, and know my true potential which lead me to successfulness and happiness in life. It is essential to take some time and actually inventory what I believe about my talents and capabilities - these beliefs were given to me through society. The people who have achieve the most in their lives were those who had big plans and ideas and who never able cast off the negativity of other people. I simply have to not care anymore about what others think and as per my favorite quote from Nike, "Just do it". I am just like everybody else, there were times that I failed and felt down in life, however I never quit. I felt thankful for my mistakes, as they gave me the opportunities to learn. We are all human and have flaws. Even if our physically appearance, unique personality, or social skills aren't what we wish we were, that doesn't have to stop us from being confident and believe in ourselves. We are beautiful inside and out in our individualistic way, so we should love ourselves unconditionally. I take very good care of myself, eat a healthy diet and get enough exercise, and never abuse my body. Confidence comes from within. I often take time to reflect my life and do some emotional maintenance. In order to be confident and believe in myself, I must value myself and understand that my well-being is important. I don't worry about anything but being myself and living life to the fullest! Enjoy the moment. Live the moment. Forget the past and think about the future. | Party 4 Charity | I've recently joined a newly established charity group called "Party 4 Charity" which is founded by Natalie Glebova Srichaphan and Shannon Kalayanamitr, along with core team members who are Ace Thanaboon Somboon, Mark Thanop Eiamamornpan, Arsit Pracahseri, Nishita Shah, Flow Cocktail Co., Ltd, and Cloud 9 Communications Co., Ltd. We are a collective group of individuals with an idealistic viewpoint towards making a difference in the world, with a concentration on Thailand and the neighboring regions. Our Vision: We believe that social responsibility should not be a difficult process, and by making the effort fun, we can come together to raise funds for worthy causes. We believe that social responsibilty can fit into the lives of all individuals no matter how busy they are. Our Mission: To create awareness amongst younger individuals on social issues such as AIDS, poverty, environmental/wildlife issues, abused children, education, breast cancer, etc. through a series of events, and to get everyone involved in helping one cause at a time. Each event will be organized in order to benefit a different charitable cause or organization. In order to bring attention to the causes and to raise funds for the organization we are helping, we will theme all our events to reflect the cause itself. About the Cause: Our kick-off party is the first of its kind in a series of events that will happen in the upcoming months, and with everybody's support, hopefully years to come. We decide to kick off this movement by holding a party themed DARE TO DREAM: What I want to be when i grow up, on 28th Nov. with proceeds from all the ticket sales going to 108 Punna Project benefitting Wat Sakaew Orphanage in Ang Tong province. 108 Punna is a photgraphy project founded by Ace Thanaboon Somboon and Mark Thanop Eiamamornpan capturing the faces of 108 kids from Wat Sakaew School of Orphans. Together, with the help of 18 top Thai stylists and various top Thai art directors, they cretae a photographer book with images of what each child aspires to be when they grow up. www.108punna.com Together, we can make a difference! | | Published on Wednesday, 29th of October at 1:56 pm | Category: More... | | Read comments (4) | Add comment | | |

| Emotional Affair! | I'm certain that everyone of us has been involved or experienced relationship with spouse or partner whatsoever. The point is that most of us have not been 100% faithful to their spouse/partner. I'm writing this not based on mine or anyone else's experiences, but in general in which most of us have to admit that it's true and that we've been through this at some points. It's the fact of denial or admitting the guiltiness, fault, and the sense of morality that is keeping it a 'secret'. There are many kinds of relationship which most of us have been through whether it's a monogamous relationship (i pray for those of you who are), polygamous relationship, emotional affair, sexual affair, cyber affair, open relationship, infedelity, or adultery and etc. Some people might have done all of the above, and some just done one or a few. I believe that the most dangerous relationship is the "emotional affair" as it gradually transforms from freindship to a seriuos relationship" which can deeply hurt and effect the real 'partner'. An 'emotional affair' begins when one partner has extremely close relationship with a person of the opposite sex that transforms from regular friendship to something more. Instead of just hanging around platonically, the partner begins having feelings of attraction for the other person. Generally they begin talking intimately about things they should only be discussing with their significant other. They flirt with the other person, and behave inappropriately. They may even withdraw from their partner. Unlike a 'cyber affair' they do see the other person, sometimes having lunches or dinners or even just meeting somewhere for coffee. They behave in a manner that is secretive and hurtful, keeping information from their partner and sneaking off to have private email or phone time with the other person. Most people think that since emotional affairs fall short of physical cheating they aren't really all that bad. But this is incorrect as emotional affairs can hurt as much as physical cheating and sometimes even more. Emotional affairs involve all the lying and mistrust that physiacll affairs do, and their damage often takes much longer to overcome. Individuals who are the most vulnerable to becoming involved in an emotional affair are those in a marriage or relationship where emotional intimacy is lacking, which they might undergoing emotional distant and conflict. The two individuals involved may have been casual friends or co-workers to start with. Or they may have met online in a chat room (which is very common). They felt a sense of companionship with the 'friend' that was lacking with their spouse. I think that to avoid this to happen, the marriage and relationship should be fixed immediately and make it a top priority. Understanding and attention to spouse/partner is very important so there won't be any emotional distance or conflict between couples. Good luck to all the couples out there! | | Published on Wednesday, 22nd of October at 4:15 pm | | | Read comments (2) | Add comment | | |

| Land of Tears or Land of Smiles? | It's an issue that I have to write again as I want to keep emphasizing the safety of Thailand to the prospective tourists and visitors who are reluctant to visit Thailand. Yes, it happened again – Thailand hit the headlines around the world with bad news and ugly pictures of violence. The natural reactions are the travel advisories from the embassies from counties where most of the travelers come from. Some advisories say that non essential travel to Thailand should be avoided – now that’s a bit harsh isn’t it? Of course travelers are advised not to go to the few street areas near the government house and parliament as this is where there people who don’t like each other and who need to show their tempers. But can the travelers enjoy their well earned holidays under the condition(s) mentioned in the travel advisories and with police and some soldiers in some areas of Bangkok? Yes they can! So let us give you a little information why you or your valued client can still come to Thailand and enjoy the holidays: 1. As mentioned above there are about 2,000 people who are unhappy BUT there are over 10,000,000 people in Bangkok who go to work and follow their day to day business as they do every day. 2. Public transportation is running unhampered 3. Shops and Shopping Malls have their “Autumn” and/or “Midnight Sales” and awaiting to offer their bargain prices. 4. Restaurants and Bars are open as usual and serve your favorite meals and drinks. 5. Hotels serve their guests with excellent food and beverages, comfortable accommodation and most of all with good service and SMILING FACES. 6. Except maybe the Marble Temple, which is near the government house all the classic tourists sites in Bangkok are ready to welcome you and to show off their splendor. 7. The world’s best Golf Courses waiting for you to T-off. 8. Construction of big projects aimed to ease Bangkok’s traffic problem in the near future continue 9. And, and, and but most important there are over 65,000,000 people in Thailand who are ready to welcome you in 72 provinces all over the country. During the visit to Thailand travelers seek smiling faces, sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, blue sky, romantic places, good accommodation and perfect service, but most of all relaxation from the day to day stress in their home countries and we like to assure you that Thailand is still the Land of Smiles. | | Published on Thursday, 9th of October at 9:21 am | Category: More... | | Read comments (3) | Add comment | | |

| GPS Car Rally to the History of River Khwae Bridge | This weekend, my family and I took a GPS Car Rally trip that was organized by Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Amazing Thailand to Kanchanaburi Province. The main reason we took this trip because it was the first car rally that used GPS (Global Positioning System). There were about 65 cars that joined this trip and their reason might be same as ours that they also wanted to try the GPS. We were amazed by how accurate and efficient it was. Last year, we had experience before from our Dupod mobile phone, but it was not as cleared and accurate as this one. The brand is "I Fox" which they were selling at the price THB 8,950. Another reason was because we wanted to revisit Kanchanaburi (the largest of the central provinces of Thailand, which is famous for it's historical attraction after the World War II). It was quite a long and exhausted trip because it took us 7 hours from Bangkok to "Royal River Khwae Resort & Spa" in Kanchanaburi when the actual distance from Bangkok to Kanchanaburi is only 150 km. During the trip we had to do games and activities in each destination that was assigned. Each car had to compete with one another by making points, which points will be deducted from each mistake that one makes. Unfortunately, we didn't won any prizes, however we had a good time and good experience. Next day, we were free to visit the "River Khwae Bridge" which has been popularized in numerous novels and films since the end of the war. Spanning the Khwae Yai River, almost 3 km north of Kanchanaburi town centre, the iron bridge is part of the 'Death Railway', built by the Japanese during World WarII as a supply route linking Thailand and Burma. An estimated 10,000 prisoners of war and 100,000 Asian coolies perished as a result of brutal treatment, starvation, disease and exhaustion during the 16 months it took to complete the 415 km railway. After that, we walked over to a nearby "JEATH (Japan, England, Austrailia, Thailand, and Holland) War Museum" which is the cemetaries bear witness to the carnage of the 'Death Railway'. The JEATH Museum bears witness to the suffering of those that fell during the construction. The 'open-air' JEATH Museum was built in 1977 by a Thai abbot in the style of the huts used to imprison prisoners of war. The museum contains bunks and pictures of actual soldiers who died alongside articles on the site and other authentic items. The result is and a picture of cramped squalors which gives visitors a genuine insight into the suffering the soldiers went through. | Wow! Exotic Vehicles | Recently, I had a great opportunity to visit "Jesada Technik Museum" in Nakhon Pathom Province, which is Thailand's very first museum of exotic cars and the largest museum in Asia. I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of vehicles there ranging from bubble cars, motorbikes, classic cars, tanks, humvies, helicopters, etc. There were means of all kinds of transportation from cars, boats, airplanes, and military aircrafts from all over the globe. The owner and founder is a business man, Mr. Jesada Dejsakulrit who had been traveling around the world and started his first collection from bubble cars and from there that he started to collecting other means of transport. Eventhough it is called a museum but it's more like a private collection that is open to public viewing free of charge. Very kind enough of him that he wants to educate the children, therefore has hosted field trips to many school children with lunch and tour guide offered. If you are classic and exotic car lovers, please visit this musuem and you will be surprised to see these collectibles that you can't see anywhere else in the world. Jesada Technik Museum is located at 100 Moo 2, Ngewrai, Nakhon Chaisi, Nakhon Pathom. For further information call 66 (034) 339-468 or 089-679-8778. Or visit http://www.jesadatechnikmuseum.com It opens Tuesday to Sunday. | | Published on Friday, 26th of September at 2:06 am | Category: Motors | | Read comment (1) | Add comment | | |

| Spontaneous Human Combustion | The other day I went to see a Thai movie called "Khon Fai Look" or "Spontaneous Human Combustion" which was partially based on a true story. After seeing that movie, it still leaves me with a creepy and very unscientific feeling as it's something that really happenned. In the movie, they slightly changed a plot so that there's a scientific explanation to the cause of "Spontaneous Human Combustion" or SHC, however in reality SHC is still an unproven phenomenon. I became more and more curious to find out on the true story and the cause of SHC. From Wikipedia, Spontaneous Human Combustion (SHC) refers to the belief that the human body sometimes burns without an external source of ignition. There is much speculation and controversy regarding SHC, for it is an unproven natural phenomenon. Many theories and hypotheses have attempted to explain how SHC might occur, but those which rely on current scientific understanding say that instances mistaken for spontaneous combustion actually required a source of ignition. One such hypothesis is the "wick effect", in which the clothing of the victim soaks up melted human fat and acts like the wick of candle. Another possibility is that the clothing is caused to burn by a discharge of static electricity. The likelihood that truly spontaneous human combustion actually takes place is remote, due to the presence of water and the lack of highly flammable compounds and oxygen in the human body. History of SHC Over the past 300 years, there have been more than 200 reports of persons burning to a crisp for no apparent reason. The first reliable historic evidence of SHC appears from the year 1673. What Remains After SHC Event - The body is normally more severely burned than one that has been caught in a normal fire. - The burns are not distributed evenly over the body; the extremities are usually untouched by fire, whereas the torso usually suffers severe burning. - In some cases the torso is completely destroyed, the bones being reduced completely to ash. - Small portions of the body (an arm, a foot, maybe the head) remain unburned. - Only objects immediately associated with the body have burned; the fire never spread away from the body. SHC victims have burnt up in bed without the sheets catching fire, cloth worn is often barely signed, and flammable materials only inces away remain untouched. - A greasy soot deposit covers the ceiling and walls, usually stopping three to four feet above the floor. - Objects above this three to four foot line show signs of heat damage - Although temperatures of 3,000 degrees Fahrenheit are normally required to char a body so thoroughly (crematoria, which usually operate in the neighborhood of 2,000 degrees, leave bone fragments which must be ground up by hand), frequently little or nothing around the victim is damaged, except perhaps the exact sopt where the deceased ignited. Theories about SHC - Alcoholism - many SHC victims have been alcoholics. But experiments in the 19th century demonstrated that flesh impregnanted with alcohol will not burn with the intense heat associated with SHC. - Deposits of flammable body fat - Many victims have been overweight - yet others have been skinny. - Devine Intervention - Centuries ago people felt that the expolsion was a sign from God of devine punishment. - Build-up of static electricity - no know form of electrostatic discharge could cause a human to burst into flames. - An explosive combination of chemicals can form in the digestive system - due to poor diet. - Electrical fields that exist within the human body might be capable of 'short circuiting' somehow, that some sort of atomic chain reaction could generate tremendoyus internal heat. No satisfactory of Spontaneous Human Combustion has ever been given. It is still an unsolved mystery. | | Published on Monday, 22nd of September at 5:04 pm | | | Read comments (3) | Add comment | | |
