Dogs at Au Bon Pain
It's my new routine to chill with a glass of English Breakfast in the morning at Au Bon Pain Sukhumvit 24 before going to work. As I was embracing the breeze of December and doing my usual people watch for fun. I randomly notice this Japanese lady feeding the Au Bon Pain's dog a.k.a dog that usually hang in Au Bon Pain.

If you are a big fan of ABP in Soi 24 then you would probably notice a white dog sleeping around, well don't think that this is just a Soi dog because this dog is actually 'kind of' adopted by the Japanese lady. The white dog's name is 'Shiro,' and she sleeps in the Pet Shop at Soi 24, get to walk three times a day with this kind lady.

She has already adopted two dogs from Au bon Pain to stay at her place and has been feeding Shiro for the past six years. I wish there are more people like her!

Shiro was really cute as her owner was about to walk her out she just ran to sleep right under my chair, oh well, I guess she wants her story to be heard.

Fighting with the Rocks
On Saturday me and my friends went rock climbing, as easy as it sounds, the process was far beyond being easy but not impossible. The good old racquet club offers rock climbing lessons, so there I was already to climb only I was hitting myself around the rocks!

In my twenty three years of life, I thought I knew what it means to have a sore body but I guess I never knew until I climbed up those rocks. I was the only one who took forever to reach the top but then I realized a lot while climbing. Never give up is the key that works.

Just like life I suppose, you never give up! It's a good lesson and the one I am definitely going back to, maybe tomorrow! I really admire my friends, they didn't give up and they were really strong, seriously, it freaks me out to see how fast they climbed up!

New to rock climbing? Read New Heights for more information.

The Roof Bar & Restaurant
Yesterday I had an opportunity to pop by at The Roof, a.k.a Skydine Design on 25 in Siam@Siam. Besides the fact that the upside down roses in the elevator kind of remind me of funerals even though the whole point was 'love in the air,' or at least it's my best guess, I was still freaked out.

The view, wind, combined with their quite creative cocktails (007 and French Connection) are simply breath taking. I was dosing on April in Paris, all I know is there's champagne in it and two glasses later I kind of found myself having a little buzz.
Honestly, this is officially my new favorite drink here! Walking up one more floor we find the dance floor on the roof top, now how cool is that? You can finally dance under the moonlight, literally! Especially with the DJ spinning old school house tracks, that's what I am looking for when I am partying high.

Long story short, The Roof is my next pitstop when I have nothing to do in Sukhumvit.

Be You
"I realized that with or without girls, all you need to do is just be happy," said one of my friends after a long gap of updating each other. It's surprising how a person can change, from a guy I once knew, he was shy, in love with this girl who doesn't deserve him, and the cliche story goes on.

To see that person turned into this positive, career focused, happy, vibrant person, is a great feeling. We started talking about life, love, life, and love, of course, work, you can't really escape these three topics can you?

We have to come the conclusion that the best thing to do in life is to just be yourself and I couldn't agree more. Although I may say, "I am being myself," there are times I know I am losing track of being myself and the most important part is recognize that and get right back on track of being yourself.

Trust us, it's a great feeling when you are just you and you are doing what you feel happy about. The only person you have to love is yourself, along side with the ones who cares about you, and oh lose that excess backage, after all they only bring you down!

Tick-Tock: Kylie Minogue's Winners
It's been almost two weeks since Lifestyle BK sent out an invitation to our members to participate in our little game, 'Why do you want to go to Kylie Minogue concert?'

In deed we have gotten tons of responses from our readers from "I want to see her booty," to a student that can't afford to buy the tickets, to a girl who's heart has recently been broken and finds Kylie as her true inspiration.

It's not an easy task for Lifesyle BK team to pick the winners! But we have a few on our minds and tomorrow will be the judgment day. All I have to say is look forward to the newsletter and our personal e-mails as we will be announcing the four lucky winners!

On the other side, I am going through my closet looking for the totally Kylie style dress to wear for her concert this Sunday!

Destination: The Private Island
"You have been departed to the Chivas Music Terminal, the Private Island," is the line you would hear if you were in the elevator at Le Fenix being escorted by your very own hostess who cordially leads you to the rooftop bar, Nest.

Chivas came back this time to zouk the Bangkokians out and they certainly did, transforming the chill-out Nest that we know off to a dance floor and a heaven for trance music lovers. We love the idea of writings under the water, fish tank, chalk board, we need not say more.

With tracks like "Big Sky," from Armin Van Buuren to the everlasting tracks like, "Show Me Love," it doesn't surprise me that people were dancing like there's no tomorrow. I know I did have one of the I sweat all night nights, yet again! What can I say? I was zouked out!
What I love most was the icey cold mist that was blasted out to the dance floor, definitely gave me the chill up to my spine!

The Ex List
Are you thirty, single, and loving it? If you are then stay that way and far away from the freaky fortune teller is what I say after watching, 'The Ex List.'

Remember, 'Eva,' the I-am-really-pregnant chick from Grey's Anatomy, she is back this time as the main star for the fresh series, 'The Ex List,' where she will be hunting down for her Mr. Right from the past.

I watched the first episode and I must say it is quite interesting, especially when it comes down to writing the names of all your exes, tracking them down, for another chance. I honestly wonder who she will end up with!

Makes me feel like writing down all the names of my exes, only if I know the description of exes, is the guy I went for a movie with, hung out with twice, talked with for three months? [Grin]

The First Black American President
And for those who cheer for Barack Obama, it's finally happened, your dream come true and I am sure it is his dream as well. "Change has come," he says.

Obama Triumphs, will be first black US president
by David Espo, AP Special Correspondent

Barack Obama swept to victory as the nation's first black president Tuesday night in an electoral college landslide that overcame racial barriers as old as America itself. "Change has come," he told a huge throng of cheering supporters.

The son of a black father from Kenya and a white mother from Kansas, the Democratic senator from Illinois sealed his historic triumph by defeating Republican Sen. John McCain in a string of wins in hard-fought battleground states — Ohio, Florida, Virginia, Iowa and more.

On a night for Democrats to savor, they padded their majorities in the House and Senate, and come January will control both the White House and Congress for the first time since 1994.

In his first speech as president-elect, Obama catalogued the challenges ahead. "The greatest of a lifetime," he said, two wars, a planet in peril, the worst financial crisis in a century."

The Soi 11 Association
From Q Bar to BED Supperclub, to the newly born Diva Club and the recently celebrated Twisted Republic, there's no doubt that Sukhumvit Soi 11 is what we can call one of the 'it,' streets in Bangkok.

With numerous restaurants, hotels, rooftop bar, hint hint, the Nest we love so much! All of them will be gathered together on the Tuesday 11th, November to celebrate and launch, 'Soi 11 Association,' at BED Supperclub

If you are the one that's going to be there then expect to see the owners, managers, PR, regular customers of probably all the places in that Soi combined together in one place, sharing the same goal, the same vision, and you can be their witness.

What can I say, when I heard that there is going to be the Soi 11 Association, I am thrilled! I am the Soi 11 and yes, indeed it is the heart of Bangkok!

The Sky is Red
Finally after hearing so much about the new upscale rooftop bar, 'Red Sky,' I did my own rooftop hop to the talked-about bar on Saturday. I must say, it is simply awesome, the food however, may not be for me since I am a vegetarian!

Would I want to go back there again? Definitely, for drinks that is, and next time I am going to make sure I sit at the bar! The colors of the bar rotates from red to green to my favorite, purple, creating this not-in-Bangkok atmosphere.

All I know is, by 7pm the place was packed with people crawling at the bar, mingling, chatting their evening away. I mean hey, I might actually come back home with a new friend or meet some of my old friends!

I got there at 5.30pm just chillin' out with my friends and a glass of refreshing pineapple juice just looking over at the sky as the sunsets, and I came back without any mosquito bites or embarrassing moments of, 'My skirt blew away like Marilyn Monroe!'

The place is with this pretty cool wind protection where you get enough breeze through out the night and the view of the city is definitely different. It's almost like you can look down at each building and see what's there, quite cool to actually.

All in all, pricey but worth the view! Especially if you are looking for something intimate, chilled-out, and not too in-the-city also known as Sukhumvit area. It's time we go beyond that anyway.
