Bavarian Blowout - Join the Oktoberfest celebrations

Originating as a marriage celebration for Prince Ludwig of Bavaria and Princess Therese of Saxony-Hildburghausen back in 1810, Oktoberfest has been running for nearly 200 years and is one of the world’s largest annual festivals. Celebrated world-wide, it’s a great excuse to down copious amounts of beer, enjoy German cuisine and have a jolly good time. Join the fun at Oktoberfest celebrations taking place in Hong Kong and Macau.

Hong Kong Jockey Club Oktoberfest

Why not celebrate Oktoberfest while betting on horses? Harking back to the origins of the original horserace, the Hong Kong Jockey Club is celebrating with three Oktoberfest inspired races. The final one is a day race held on Sunday, 19th of October, with gates opening at 11am and the first race starting at 1pm. Check out the wood sawing, beer swilling, and hammer hitting games for cash and beer coupons and an array of German-inspired snacks. Or opt for the buffet at Stable Bend Terrace which includes a pint of Paulaner, one of the Okoberfestbiers, a shot of apfelschnapps plus unlimited amounts of food such as German knuckles, salmon with cumin, and käsespätzle (cheese noodles). They have also arranged for Bayerischen Party Lowen from Munich to perform authentic Bavarian music.
